March 1979:

Hello!
It`s me, a BEDFORD CF
with a 2,3 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, 83 bhp

Although I have been sold as a German "OPEL Blitz" I`m thoroughly British.
Actually why does Opel conceal the Bedford in all their chronicles?
For sure my boss was very satisfied with me for over 20 years.

It`s somewhat empty in there.
There has to happen something!

First I fixed a frame made of angle iron bars.
Doing this, I learned to know the tolerances in British coach-building, somewhere in the inch-area!
Filling the space with isolating material Fibreboard already fixed. Finally all was covered with carpet material.

Looks pretty cosy. No Camper - but you sleep first-class.

Hardly finished, when we started the first holiday travel. Finally back home - Dover.
For a Bedford this is like heaven.
We`ve been several times in England.
A round-Ireland-tour was big fun too.

1995: Though not driven during winter, rust started to spread. After 16 years that`s ok. The engine bay showed rust spots too. Local respray and overhaul the brakes, that was all to be done.

A very new picture. January 2001
