At the end of the seventies Harley Davidson was near to close down. For the then owner AMF Harley was just a cash cow, not something to invest in quality improvement and product development. Nothing of its today´s image. In Austria few people did even know Harley Davidson still was producing.
I said to myself, I should buy a Harley, before they close down. I ordered a black "LOW RIDER". In the leaflet a wonderful bike! But within reasonable time I could only get a blue "FAT BOB".
Today I`m glad about that, for the Low Rider had period cast wheels and a black painted engine. And the quality of that paint was not the best.

*** "Original condition?" - you don`t ask this question with a Harley ***
