For a long time I´ve planned to build a Lomax, the 4-wheeled Lomax 224.
This page initially has been a "Lomax-page". But now I´ve changed my plans.

I´m going to build a car similar to those early "Cycle-cars". But as the 2CV is french, the old french name "Voiturette" fits better. It will be a two-seater, in a Tandem-arrangement.
The body will be as narrow as the 2CV frame, i.e. 23 inches.
I´ll use aluminium panels, riveted to a frame made of steel tube.

Project March 2002:

First drawings to discuss the conditions for getting a registration.

This picture of the empty frame of my 2CV led me to idea of a narrow body.

At the moment I´m building a 1:1 model, using wodden bars and panels made of IKEA-cardboard.

October 2002:

During the summer the project went on slowly. I´ve serviced the engine and now I´m checking and painting all parts of the chassis.
I do not want to fix the front fenders with the 2 screws of the steering arm as it is usually done at the Lomax'es - it´s not a question of solidity but just of design.
Old 2 CV´s had their inertia damper unit retained to the front axle assembly by two nuts. These holes are ideal to fix the fenders (similar to this Blackjack Avion).

So I had to change the front axle assembly. I did not want to drive out the kingpin with a hammer. Therefore I´ve built a simple hydraulic press utilizing a 15 to hydraulic jack.

Any comment, suggestion, hint welcome!
Will be continued as soon as there are new pics!
